Trade Rumors Will Only Continue To Swirl

As we get ready to head into All-Star Weekend, the trade rumors are only going to heat up even more. We've had two huge deals before the deadline and tons of big name players have been mentioned in trade rumors or asked for trades as well. We have pretty much under two weeks before that exciting (or not so exciting-like last year) day.

Reports surfaced yesterday about Ben Wallace potentially being sent to New York for Quentin Richardson and more stuff the Bulls don't need (nobody knows what they're doing in that organization anymore). Wallace seems very unhappy in Chicago, and even though the New York thing is dead (supposedly), he'd be even worse off there. Ben took a risk going to Chicago, and at this point, the whole thing has been a horrible twist for his career.

Of course, Jason Kidd's name will circulate up until that day as well. I've read some stuff recently that said that Mavs officials were saying they don't think Kidd can matchup defensively with Chris Paul, Derron Williams, Tony Parker or Steve Nash in a 7 game series. I would say that could be a very honest sentiment as well, and if that's the case, why trade for him? The Mavs don't need more offense, the reason they won't win a title is because, their defense is not legit.

The Cavs (LeBron) want Jason Kidd really bad, but how can they get him? I would say offering Zydrunas Ilgauskas is out of the question, cause then (with Varejao hurt) they have no big man. If you had Jason Kidd, would you trade him for a package containing any combination of: Donyell Marshall, Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Sasha Pavlovic, Damon Jones, Ira Newble or Eric Snow? I didn't think so either. LeBron is going to have to wait awhile to win a ring (at least until after next season when many of those players' contracts expire). Signing Larry Hughes for nearly 60 some million dollars was one of the biggest mistakes that team could have made, who would of thought that playing with LeBron James completely cripples his game?

Ron Artest, Tracy McGrady, Andrei Kirilenko, Zach Randolph, Jermaine O'Neal and Andre Miller are some of the names floating around right now and any one of those players could possibly make a huge impact to a number of teams.

Nothing is certain and odds are maybe none of these players will be traded February 21, but it's fun to talk about nonetheless.
