So after all this time?

Honestly, after being gone since late June what in the world do we talk about? Where do I begin?

So much stuff has happened in the NBA in the past six months. How do I pick one storyline? I could talk about everyone's favorite Boston Celtics, or how Kobe is still a Laker, or how the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat are all awful!!

What about something that hasn't been overhyped by the media? What about something that someone should be totally overhyping!!!??

THE PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS WON 13 GAMES IN A ROW!!!!

Brandon Roy and the Portland Trail Blazers are the youngest team in the NBA, they were expected to be nothing special maybe 30 wins tops, if you were wishfully thinking. All of a sudden they have 18 wins! New Years Eve marked the end of a remarkable run for the young Blazers, a run that lasted 13 straight games.

13 straight games!?!

That's a lot of games, that is something only elite teams do. We're talking Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio, Detroit and probably nobody else in the league does that kind of stuff.

Brandon Roy is an incredible player, but what a great supporting cast he has in Martell Webster, Travis Outlaw, LaMarcus Aldridge, Steve Blake and Joel Pryzbilla (amongst others, no disrespect). The team is getting a solid contribution from all kinds of guys.

Remember this is the team with the #1 pick Greg Oden sitting in a suit all season!!!

I'm happy for the Blazers, how can anyone not be? This team, franchise and organization was so great for a long time (always making the playoffs, year after year), then they hit rock bottom not only in standings but in character. The fans didn't care, the players were always in trouble with the law and they weren't getting it done on the court.

Now they have the youngest team in the NBA and are one of the hottest teams in the league. They are currently the 8th seed in the Western Conference, and I still think making the playoffs is going to be a very difficult task for them to keep up, but it is very likely.

The 13 game win streak is remarkable, no matter who it's against. They beat Denver twice, Utah twice and Golden State once and those are all impressive victories (even if Utah hasn't been great so far). They also beat Detroit earlier in the season, and Detroit has the second best record in the whole league.

So, yeah Portland probably won't make it to a a conference final or even a second round series, but hey, you never know and you have to like the fact that Rip City is back and they're playing at a really high level.

The best thing of it all for Blazers fans, you still have Greg Oden on the way for next season (here's to his rehab and getting into game shape).
