Eastern Conference Reserves

Seven spots to fill, and a lot of talent in the East. Of course people are going disagree with some of these, but you also need to consider a team's performance. Without further or do, here are the Outside The NBA Eastern Conference All Star Reserves:

Center- CHRIS BOSH
Bosh had a great campaign video, no doubt. More impressive than the video is his actual season. 22 points per game and 9 rebounds per game, and the Raptors are still winning. This guy will be an All-Star for years.

Forward- CARON BUTLER
The Lakers have played great, but imagine how great they'd be if they still had Butler? Well, he's an All-Star again and only getting better. He has been phenomenal for the Wizards this season and is doing great things for a team staying alive WITHOUT Gilbert Arenas.

Guard- CHAUNCEY BILLUPS
He's the best point guard in the East and his team actually wins games. You need C-Bill in New Orleans this year.

Guard- RICHARD HAMILTON
Rip and Chauncey go together. They're a great combo, they play for one of the best teams in the league--for the last six seasons.

Forward- PAUL PIERCE
The Celtics are winning. Pierce is a great player, he's the leading scorer and maybe the best defender on the new leader in the East. You know he loves having KG and Ray Allen in town.

Now here is the dilemma, there are two spots left. There are a lot of players playing great basketball in this conference right now. There are also ONLY six teams in the conference over .500 right now. Each one of these teams has at least one All-Star. Joe Johnson is having another great year, and the Atlanta Hawks might actually finally make the playoffs. Richard Jefferson is having a career year, putting in 24 ppg, but his team is awful and underachieving. Shaq is hurt, even though he's still the STAR of the NBA, numbers wise or not, he's the leagues best personality and the face of the NBA. Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis have played great helping the Magic resurge in the East. Michael Redd is a great player on a bad team as well, and Jose Calderon of the Toronto Raptors has been a guy to just blow people away this season. Calderon's numbers are astounding and he's done nothing short of help Bosh lead the Raptors to a plus .500 record, without TJ Ford. Since Ford went down, Calderon has been putting in about 15 ppg, 9.3 apg, 3.3 rpg on 52% FG shooting in addition to nearly 2 steals per contest and ONLY committing around 2 TURNOVERS PER GAME!!!

I can't honestly pick any of those guys over these next two, I just can't. So the final two spots go to:

Guard- RAY ALLEN
Allen's numbers are down based on his career stats, but that was expected since he's now on the court with two other All-Stars. Boston has the best record in the league, they deserve three All-Stars and they HAVE three All-Stars. Think of it this way, without KG coming to Boston, THIS DOESN'T EXIST. Though you can say the exact same about Ray Allen, a good guy, who's had a great career. He's back as an All-Star and deservingly so.

Forward- ANTAWN JAMISON
I see a lot of people leaving him off their lists in favor of someone like Richard Jefferson. I don't understand it. Jamison has been pretty underrated his whole career. He's a very solid player. He's played on some bad teams, but IF the Wizards were healthy, they'd definitely have nearly as many wins as the Pistons right now. Jamison continues to help carry this team with Caron Butler and the two are a force. Jamison is one of the only guys in the league who is putting up 20 and 10 every night (21.3 ppg, 10.4rpg). The Wizards have defied a lot of odds this year, without a superstar in Gilbert Arenas. They're 22-18, their season is far from over and they've beat Boston in back to back games. They've also had some other quality wins. Give Jamison his due, his team is winning.

Stay tuned for the Western Conference reserves tomorrow....
